Baby Edmund’s newborn session – blues, greens and peacock feathers

Asian Baby Boy Edmund’s Newborn Photography in Bishops Stortford.

When Edmund’s parents completed to questionnaire for his newborn session and requested Peacock Feathers, my creative mind went into overdrive as to how I could create something really beautiful to capure this sweet Asian baby boy and incoporate some of his asian heritage.

The focus of a newborn photoshoot is obviously on the baby, but I like to create beautiful pictures which you can enjoy on your walls as pieces of art, rather than just snapshots of your baby. Each session is colour matched to your preferences and of course styling and props, which you like. However, if you have no idea, don’t worry, leave it with me and I’ll be creative for the both of us!

As a newborn photographer, I believe in the importance of capturing this time in those first few weeks before they start becoming more awake, alert and inevitably harder to pose! Baby Edmund was 16 days old but you can take newborn pictures any time in those first 3-4 weeks and I usually schedule for around day 10.

I love to use colour in my images and this usually works perfectly for Asian Newborn Photography because of their gorgeous skin tones, which complement it so well. We chose blues, greens, teals and a few neutral options for Edmund’s newborn pictures.

I regularly enter my newborn work into newborn competitions and I was over the moon to be awarded a highly commended for Edmund’s Asian Inspired newborn photography picture with the peacock feathers with The Societies of Wedding and Portrait Photographers. I am a professional photographer with high qualifications with SWPP and The Guild of Photographers meaning that I not only achieve a high standard work but I also practice good safety measures and business practices.

Booking a newborn session for those first few weeks must seem daunting. It’s easy to let those first weeks slip away in the haze of sleepless nights and nappy changes, but by booking your newborn photography whilst you are still pregnant, you can relax knowing you will have beautiful pictures of your little one when they arrive rather than hunting for an Essex Newborn photographer when you are tired and hoping they are still available!
